News and updates
Gary has just returned from the Crimea, Ukraine, from a concert tour entitled Sinaia, featuring the world premiere of his piece for chamber orchestra by that name. Chris Jobse conducted the Tavria String Orchestra and Gary also performed the Schubert B flat sonata opus posthumous on the same program. This traditionally Russian area of the Ukraine is extremely beautiful, historically interesting and the people are very friendly and hospitable. Gary was hosted by conductor Igor Mykhaylevsky and his wife Inga. Igor is founder and conductor of the world-renowned Crimean Chamber Choir and Inga director of the Institute for Crimean Folk Music and Dance studies in Simferopol. The program Sinaia was performed in Yalta, Sevastopol and Simferopol, with Gary giving master classes at the Ukranian Cultural University and the Music College there.
I just discovered two interesting facts, which perhaps explains why I was destined to become an astrologer.
1 - The astrologers Marcia Moore, Lois Rodden, Cyril Fagan and Gary Goldschneider were all born on May 22.
2 - The astrologers Grant Lewi, Marcia Moore, Lois Rodden and Gary Goldschneider are all Sun in Gemini, Moon in Cancer.
- Gary
In December 2007 Gary visited India for the first time, where he played a piano recital in Bangalore and a house concert in Mysore. Both concerts were enthusiastically received, including the classical sonatas he played (the last sonatas of Schubert and Beethoven in B flat and C minor, respectively) but also his own raga improvisation and composed works. Gary's young students, Julian Clef, pianist, and Jan Sham Brouwer, violinist, both met with him and shared the gift of music for friends and family alike. Gary has been invited to return again in 2008 to play a tour in India.
Gary is back from a very successful Australian tour. Among the highlights were appearances at the Mind, Body, Spirit festivals in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane; giving a benefit concert for the Buttery Drug Rehabilitation Center at the home of David and Gillian Helfgott in Bellingen; lecturing to the Western Australia, New South Wales and Tasmanian astrologers; and of course making many new friends in the fabulous land of Oz. Favorite places included the Huon Valley and Bruny Island in Tasmania, Margaret River and the Perth area in Western Australia, Avalon outside Sydney and perhaps most of all Byron Bay at the top of New South Wales. So many thanks to the wonderfully open-hearted Australians, many hundreds of them, who made this trip a huge success. Gary plans to return regularly in the future.
Gary is now offering a limited number of weekly counselling sessions by telephone. If you are interested and feel you could benefit from this service please contact him directly at gary@goldschneider.com
Visit www.radionetherlands.nl to listen to Gary's radio show: The Stars of Music. It is an unusual combination of music and astrology, concentrating on his theory of the keys which organizes western music into a comprehensive system, for both listeners and professionals, alike. The show is broadcast internationally by Vox Humana at Radio Netherlands and can be accessed directly on their website. Do a search for Gary Goldschneider and listen to the program.
